DirecTV’s AUDIENCE Network’s original series “ICE,” from Antoine Fuqua’s Fuqua Films, premiered on November 15. Are you watching? If so, thoughts? I’m not a DirecTV subscriber, so I have no informed commentary on the show to share. It would be great if audiences could access DirecTV’s original series on other SVOD platforms like Hulu, or Amazon Prime, 24+ hours after they air so that more of us can watch them.
“Ice” is 4 episodes into a 10-episode first season (each is an hour long). Antoine Fuqua (who created the series with Robert Munic), directed at least one episode, while serving mostly as executive producer.
In terms of the cast, of note given this blog’s specific interests, Judith Shekoni (“Heroes Reborn,” “The Twilight Saga” franchise) is a member of an ensemble that includes Cam Gigandet, Jeremy Sisto, Ray Winstone, Raymond Barry, Donald Sutherland, and Ella Thomas.
“ICE” is described as a high-impact, serialized crime drama that follows the Green Family, as they plunge into the underbelly of the Los Angeles diamond trade. Ms. Shekoni plays a character named Sister Rah – a South African crime lord who rules the Los Angeles underground diamond trade. And given what we see in the below clip that was released today, featuring Sister Rah, she clearly isn’t to be messed with. Take a look at the brief clip below; and if you are a DirecTV subscriber and are watching the series, share your thoughts with the rest of us:
