Tubi has revealed some new projects with big names including RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni and Nick Cannon. These films and series will include bloodsucking vampires, celebrity ride-alongs, and adult animated entertainment.

Slay, written and directed by Jem Garrard, is a horror/comedy starring Trinity the Tuck (RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars seasons 4 and 7), Crystal Methyd (RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12), Heidi N Closet (RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 8) and Cara Melle (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 5). The film follows for drag queens as they get ready to perform, but realize the town they’re in is full of vampires. According to the logline:

After a booking mistake, four drag queens find themselves in a gruff town about to perform at a venue with a mostly unwelcoming audience, but when the venue is attacked by bloodsucking vampires, the crowd looks to the queens to slay and save the day. Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron and Samantha Levine executive produce.

Garrard said in a director’s statement how happy they are to have Drag Race alumni in their film about fighting back against evil–in this case, vampires, but in real life, that includes the number of anti-LGBTQ legislation in the country.

“At a time when hate and intolerance towards the LGBTQ+ community is on the rise, I wanted to write a horror comedy with heart that showcased drag queens and queers as the heroes,” wrote Gerrard. “Drag queens have always been a symbol of resistance and resilience, so seeing them kick-ass against a bunch of blood-sucking vampires felt like a comical, yet pointed allegory.”

“I’m beyond thrilled to have Trinity the Tuck, Heidi N Closet, Crystal Methyd, and Cara Melle leading this film. Each one is an artistic powerhouse in their own right, and together, they create on-screen magic,” Gerrard continued. “I’m excited for audiences to fall in love with their performances – they bring so much heart and humour to the movie, while lip syncing, ass-kicking and keeping the stakes high (pun fully intended).”

Nick Cannon’s Big Drive is an upcoming series hosted and executive produced by Cannon, in which he and celebrities take on car culture. According to the logline:

“NICK CANNON’S BIG DRIVE accelerates into the world of cars, celebrity ride along, and iconic automotive events with host Nick Cannon steering the wheel.”

Confirmed celebrities to ride with Cannon include Mike Tyson, Rita Ora, N.O.R.E., NLA Choppa, Jeezy and more. The show will also take over events such as Off Road Expo, NASCAR, and SEMA. Benjamin Sumpter directs and executive produces with Cannon (who executive produces via his company NCredible Productions), Bud Brutsman and Michael Goldman. Tia Wong Katoa co-executive produces.

Cannon wrote in his statement, “I’m beyond excited to introduce Nick Cannon’s Big Drive to fans and car enthusiasts alike.”

“This isn’t just another car show,” he continued. “From breathing new life into classic beauties to cruising with some of the biggest names in entertainment, this show promieses an Ncredible ride you won’t forget.”

Killer Mike is set to star in animated series Big Bruh, described as an “animated satire” about a disrespectful boxer who becomes a mentor. According to the logline:

“BIG BRUH is an animated satire that follows “Money” Montez Sheffield (Killer Mike), a narcissistic boxer with utter disregard for common decency. Determined to rehab his public image, he joins the Big Bruh / Lil Sis program and meets his match.”

Also starring are Kristin Dodson, Punkie Johnson and Byron Bowers. The show is produced through studio Bento Box Entertainment, with Killer Mike and Jerron Horton as executive producers. Horton also serves as the series writer.

Horton wrote in a statement how the series has been a project he’s put his heart in.

“BIG BRUH has long been a passion project of mine. It’s a satirical and comedic look at the present state of our society— with a dash of family trauma. I wanted to make something everyone could laugh at and I truly believe this movie hits the mark. Special thanks to my leads Killer Mike and Kristin Dodson for seeing the vision— as well as the rest of my amazing cast for their outstanding performances. I am so grateful that Tubi and Bento Box gave me a platform to tell this story. Enjoy.”
