The second season of Squid Game: The Challenge on Netflix has crowned its winner.

Perla Figuereo (player 072) reigned supreme, beating out fellow finalists Vanessa Clements (Player 017), Steven Jones (Player 183), Dajah Graham (Player 302) and Trinity Parriman (Player 398).

Perla is one-half of a pair of multiple siblings who competed in the season. Her brother, Jeffrey, was eliminated during Marbles.

In our interview with the finalists before the finale aired, Perla explained how her brother’s exit impacted the trajectory of her game.

What Perla says about Jeffrey leaving the competition

She told us, “I think Jeffrey leaving was definitely like, OK, now it’s not just two people, it’s just me fighting for our family, so it definitely gave me more ammo and more motivation and more drive. Also, [it] made me a little nervous, because Jeffrey is the reserved one, the thinker, and I’m the socializer, so now I have to put two hats on and think, ‘What would Jeffrey do in a situation and what would Perla do in the situation?'”

The winner continued, “It definitely made me more sure in myself, and also made me really scared sometimes because I was like, ‘Oh God, am I making the right choice?’ And I think that, based on the games I think that I could have gotten as far as marbles, but I think in us playing each other, it secured that one of us was going to move forward in the competition, so it did give us at least that advantage, because if I could have paired with Trinity, or Deja, or Steven, or Vanessa, I could have lost, and [the] journey could have ended there, for the Figueros…[laughs]. Sorry, that’s lame. But at least it secured that I was going to move forward, and also it gave me the drive to be like, ‘OK, I can’t get out the next game, and just keep fighting.”
