The highly-anticipated and controversial Netflix reality series Squid Game: The Challenge drops its first teaser, asking contestants if they are ready to risk everything at the chance to win $4.56 million.

Granted, no one’s going to die in this version of Squid Game, based on the instantly viral Korean hit drama series by Hwang Dong-hyuk. But contestants will be pushed to the limit for the chance to go home with a life-changing amount of money. Friendships and interpersonal battles abound as the game’s challenges stress the contestants beyond what they might have bargained for.

According to Netflix‘s description:

456 real players will enter the competition show in pursuit of a life-changing reward of USD $4.56 million. As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.

Studio Lambert and The Garden produce with The Garden’s Nicola Brown and John Hay and Studio Lambert’s Tim Harcourt, Toni Ireland, Stephen Lambert, Nia Yemoh and Stephen Yemoh executive producing. Anna Kidd and Louise Peet also executive produce.
