It’s no hidden secret that Clueless actress Stacey Dash has become a bit of a pariah in the black community due to her conservative views, as well as her outrageous comments in which she expressed that there should be no Black History Month. However, the former star of BET’s hit drama The Game is seemingly getting back to her acting roots. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dash has joined the cast in Roe v. Wade, a pro-life story about the landmark Supreme Court case.

Dash joins a cast that includes the likes of Robert Davi and Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight, both of whom have gained reputations as Hollywood’s more outspoken conservatives, as well as Greer Grammer, Lucy Davenport, Justine Wachsberger, Corbin Bernsen, John Schneider, Cocoon actor Steve Guttenberg, William Forsythe, Wade Williams and Richard Portnow.

The film, which has been shrouded in secrecy, will be directed by Nick Loeb and Cathy Allan, both of whom also serve as writers and producers. Loeb has garnered news headlines in recent years for his well-documented custody battle over frozen embryos with Modern Family breakout star and former girlfriend Sofia Vergara.

Loeb and Allyn began shooting the secret project on June 15 in New Orleans, Louisiana. As for Dash’s role, the former Fox News commentator will portray Mildred Jefferson, the first black woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School and the former president of the National Right to Life Committee.

Less than a month into the production of Roe v. Wade, the film has already seen its fair share of backlash, as it has been reported that many actors disassociated themselves from the project and walked away due to its pro-life angle. Also, the original director of Roe v. Wade walked away from the project, leaving Loeb and Allyn to take the reins as co-directors.
