Sterling K. Brown is joining Elegance Bratton for his next film.

According to Deadline, The Inspection director is helming his next project, By Any Means, starring Brown and Mark Wahlberg.

The film is described as a “true-life crime thriller” that tells the story of a mafia hitman who was hired by J. Edgar Hoover to work for the FBI in 1966.

The hitman was partnered up with a Black special agent to find those responsible for the murders of Mississippi civil rights leaders.

Sascha Penn and Theodore Witcher originally wrote the Black List script, then called CI34. Witcher revised the script with Bratton, leading to the final version of the film we’ll see sometime next year. Production starts in March 2025.

Hammerstone Studios produces with Thunder Road, North.Five.Six., and Freedom Principle. Wahlberg also produces via his company Closest to the Hole.

Brown adds the project to his busy to-do list, which also includes the recently announced film adaptation of Is God Is.
