Sterling K. Brown is telling Entertainment Weekly that fans of This Is Us are about to be in for a tear-stained future.
As fans are well aware of, this season is heading towards a flash-forward that could show us a very different dynamic for the Pearson family. First of all, there’s the current drama going on between Sterling’s character Randall and his wife Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) due to the strain of Randall’s successful election campaign. However, there’s also the ominous meeting of “Her,” which Entertainment Weekly suggests is Rebecca, Mandy Moore’s matriarchal character. Does this mean Rebecca is near death?
“It’s intense,” Brown said to the outlet. “It’s an intense situation that is shrouded in sadness. It’s a rough thing that people are coming together for.”
As far as Randall and Beth’s relationship, which seems on the rocks in the present day, Brown said he couldn’t reveal anything because he’d “ruin the whole thing.” However, he said, “They always…and never stop loving each other.”
This Is Us airs each Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
