Season 2 of WGN’s critically-acclaimed drama “Underground” will debut on Wednesday, March 8 at 10 p.m. ET, the network announced today.
The season will introduce legendary abolitionist Harriet Tubman, who will be played by Aisha Hinds in a recurring role. Executive producer John Legend will also be appearing this season, portraying famed reformer Frederick Douglass.
Season 2 will focus on the Macon 7 and their continued struggle for freedom within an America on the cusp of a civil war, picking up in the aftermath of their epic escape attempt.
The season will be comprised of 10 hour-long episodes, and stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Rosalee), Aldis Hodge (Noah), Jessica de Gouw (Elizabeth Hawkes), Alano Miller (Cato), Christopher Meloni (August Pullman), Amirah Vann (Ernestine), and Marc Blucas (John Hawkes) will all return.
Misha Green and Joe Pokaski return as showrunners.
