Fresh from Tessa Thompson’s recent Netflix success with the crime drama His & Hers, Thompson is headed back to the streaming service for another high-level project.

According to Deadline, Thompson is set to star in Next Door, a thriller series created by Love Life creator Sam Boyd and A24. Per the report, the series is being fast-tracked, with a writing room already getting staffed.

What will ‘Next Door’ be about?

According to the outlet, Next Door is described as “a dark comedic thriller about marriage and paranoia in the modern American suburbs.” The series is inspired by neighborhood thriller films like 2006’s Little Children and the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock film Rear Window.

Boyd will serve as writer, director, showrunner and executive producer, with Thompson executive producing with Kishori Rajan under Viva Maude. Cut To’s Joe Hipps will also produce.

Thompson’s acting lineup is quite busy; along with Next Door. She is also listed as attached to surrealist comedy, Later the War, with Eddie Redmayne and Patsy Ferran. She’s also taking on Broadway with drama The Fear of 13 with co-star Adrien Brody. This marks both Thompson and Brody’s Broadway debuts.
