Gasp for air and be prepared! Director Scott Derrickson’s chilling new thriller The Black Phone has dropped a new trailer that involves a sadistic killer and dark secrets that emerge from an unplugged phone.
“The phone is dead. And it’s ringing.” Don’t answer it.
Here’s the official description:
Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
Starring Ethan Hawke, the cast is rounded out with Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies and James Ransone.
Directed by Derrickson, The Black Phone, is produced by Jason Blum and C. Robert Cargill, while Cargill and Derrickson wrote the screenplay. Ryan Turek and Christopher H. Warner serve as executive producers for the film, which is taken from Joe Hill short story from his New York Times bestseller, 20th Century Ghosts.
