WNBA star Angel Reese has been tapped for a role in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives.
Netflix announced the news on Tuesday, noting that Reese will appear as a character named “Trainer Barbie” in what they refer to as a co-starring role.
Returning series regulars include Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit and George Ferrier. Season 1 recurring cast members Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emergy were upped to series regulars for Season 2, and Branton Box returns to guest star.
Who are the other new cast members for ‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2?
New recurring guest stars include Kim Matula and Alex Fitzalan, as well as John Stamos, Dale Dickey and Cam Gigandet in new roles.
Here’s the Season 2 logline: At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?
Season 2 will have eight episodes. The Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment is now a full Netflix original series for Season 2. As we’ve reported before, the show was set to be at Lionsgate’s then-sister property, Starz, before the two split. After the split, the series was sold to Netflix.
Rebecca Cutter is the creator and showrunner. Erin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment, as well as May Cobb (who wrote the novel the show is based on), executive produce with Cutter.
