The Finest isn’t being picked up by ABC.
This is per intel from The Hollywood Reporter‘s Lesley Goldberg.
The drama, produced by Regina King and Robin Roberts, would have centered on on the “lives of five African-American sisters, all officers in the NYPD, as they face the challenges of their high-risk jobs while juggling the responsibilities of marriage, motherhood and family.” It was based on the real-life story of the Holmes sisters, who Roberts covered for GMA.
Amirah Vann, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Frances Turner, Aubin Wise and Leigh-Anne Rose would have starred as the sisters.
Michael Beach, Dorian Missick and Zoe Robins would have been series regulars.
Other pilots passed on at the network (given Shadow and Act’s stated interest): Get Christie Love (starring Kylie Bunbury and Khandi Alexander), For Love (starring Lex Scott Davis), Staties (starring Annie Ilonzeh), Most Likely To (starring Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Faison and Laya DeLeon Hayes) and The Mission (starring Wood Harris).
