Morris Chestnut is no stranger to portraying fictional doctors on television. Chestnut previously portrayed Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. on the police procedural Rosewood and Dr. Prentiss on Nurse Jackie.

As a new addition to the third season of The Resident, Chestnut takes on the role of Dr. Barrett Cain. In an exclusive Shadow And Act clip, Cain is depicted as an intimidating neurosurgeon hired by Red Rock Medical to turn around finances at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital.

Fancying himself as a powerhouse physician capable of curing any disease, Cain has a charming facade that functions as a foil for his ruthless quest for money and power. Cain is also not above exacting revenge on anyone who opposes him.
