The New York Undercover reboot could look a lot like the ’90s! If you haven’t heard, ABC is in the process of developing a New York Undercover revival.
Since it was originally announced, the network has officially ordered a pilot for the revival which would pick up 20 years after the end of the iconic series, following detectives Nat Gilmore and Melissa Ortiz “as they investigate the city’s most dangerous criminals, from Harlem to Battery Park.”
During the news of a pilot order, it was revealed that some original cast members are expected to reprise roles and that Anthony Hemingway will direct the pilot.
Right now, the lead roles of Nat Gilmore and Melissa Ortiz have not been cast, but a new report suggests two former cast members from its original run are in talks to join.
Malik Yoba and Luna Lauren Velez, who portrayed Det. JC Williams and Det. Nina Moreno in the original, are in talks to come back, according to Geeks WorldWide.
If the pilot is ordered to series (which is very likely), it would probably debut in fall 2019 or spring 2020.
