TikTok star La’Ron Hines is set to be the centerpiece of a new show in development from Robin Thicke, who mentors the 19-year-old.

As Variety reports, the show will chart his rise from being a viral sensation on TikTok to having a segment during the Golden Globes. It will also follow the Mississippi native as he “embarks on a journey to become a superstar.”

The New York-based production company Leopard USA is developing the series, which is untitled at the moment.

Hines, who has a huge presence on TikTok with nearly 9 million followers, went viral after he posted videos interviewing children at his parents’ daycare for his social media-based sketch show, Are You Smarter Than A Pre-Schooler? It resulted in Hines and his godsister, JaBria McCullum, also featured on the show, to received massive fame on the app.

Hines was then invited to have a sketch during Golden Globes by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler where he and the kids from TikTok did interviews. Hines will serve as an executive producer for the show alongside Thicke and Lindsay Schwartz.

“La’Ron is a special young talent with an amazing work ethic, who deserves the opportunity to reach a wider audience, and this partnership with Leopard USA offers the perfect platform,” said Thicke in a statement. “Anything is possible with La’Ron’s limitless potential and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes him.”

Schwartz added, “We are super excited to go behind the scenes and chart the journey of La’Ron under the mentorship of global superstar Robin Thicke. We’ve seen this type of mentorship play out in competitions, but we’ve never seen it happen real time in the real world.”

Leopard USA is backed by the U.K.’s Argonon Group.

The show does not have a home yet and is currently being shopped around to various broadcasters.
