Gabrielle Union is furthering business with Spectrum Originals.
First producing and starring in Spectrum’s L.A.’s Finest, she’ll now executive produce Tips, an upcoming dramedy set at a bikini bar. The project is from Sony Pictures TV (also the home of L.A.’s Finest), where Union’s I’ll Have Another production company has a deal.
Created by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong, the series “centers on a young woman who finds an escape from a soul-sucking day job and recent breakup in an unexpected place: pole dancing at a bikini bar.”
L.A.’s Finest, the Bad Boys TV spinoff and buddy cop dramedy co-starring Jessica Alba, was renewed for Season 2 at Spectrum Originals earlier this year.
Charter Communications’ Spectrum Originals is only available to Spectrum cable subscribers.
