The teaser for HBO’s True Detective: Night Country, starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, has been released.
The series is the next in the True Detective anthology series, with this season set in Alaska as detectives try to find a lost research team. According to the logline:
When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
The series also stars Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Isabella Star Lablanc, Aka Niviâna, Anna Lambe, and Joel D. Montgrand with Christopher Eccleston and John Hawkes. Issa López is the screenwriter and director for the entire series, as well as showrunner. She also serves as executive producer with Foster.
Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak also executive produce via Jenkins’ production company PASTEL. Other executive producers include Mari Jo Winkler, Chris Mundy, Alan Page Arriaga, Steve Golin, Richard Brown, Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Nic Pizzolatto. Producers include Princess Daazhraii Johnson, Cathy Tagnak Rexford and Sam Breckman.
The teaser dropped during a presentation in which Warner Bros. Discovery officially announced the name and launch details for the combined HBO Max and Discovery+ streamer, Max.
Teasers were also released for The Penguin, The Regime and The Sympathizer. You can view those trailers below. A straight-to-series order was also announced for another Game of Thrones prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. It was also officially confirmed that the first-ever Harry Potter series is in development and that there is a decade-long plan in the works for it.
