The trailer for HBO’s True Detective: Night Country gives fans a look at the mystery and intrigue that will take place in the Alaskan tundra.

Jodie Foster and Kali Reis star in the next chapter in the True Detective anthology series as detectives who are trying to find the answer to strange disappearances. According to the logline:

When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

The cast also includes Finn Bennett and Fiona Shaw, with Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, and John Hawkes. Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson, and Joel D. Montgrand will guest star.

Issa López serves as writer, director, and showrunner for the six-episode series. Foster also executive produces with PASTEL’s Mari Jo Winkler; Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak. Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey and Cary Joji Fukunaga also executive produce with Chris Mundy, Alan Page Arriaga, Steve Golin, Richard Brown and Nic Pizzolatto. Princess Daazhraii Johnson, Cathy Tagnak Rexford and Sam Breckman produce.
