Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed Tiffany Haddish-Ali Wong animated comedy, Tuca & Bertie, has a premiere date.
The former Netflix series will premiere on Adult Swim on June 13 at 11:30 pm. Adult Swim picked up the animated series after the streaming giant canceled it in 2019, despite its acclaim.
Comedians Haddish and Wong reprise their roles, voicing their respective characters along with Steven Yeun. The first season of Tuca & Bertie will remain on Netflix’s streaming platform, while Season 2 will be exclusively on Adult Swim.
As reported by Variety, the 10-episode season will “see Bertie trying to excavate her ‘inner ghouls’ with the help of a therapist, while Tuca ‘prefers to stuff hers behind the toilet,’ the network previews. While she may get to them later, her priority is trying to find someone to date. Meanwhile, Speckle is busy building a new house, but soon finds he’s driven to the brink of insanity.”
Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, John Early, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Amber Ruffin, Jermaine Fowler and Tessa Thompson guest-starred on Season 1. This season’s guest stars have not been released.
The season is executive produced by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, Haddish and Wong and Lisa Hanawalt, who also serves as the show’s creator. t
“We’re so excited to be on Adult Swim! I can’t wait for the world to see our girls Tuca and Bertie — and our main man Speckle — getting into some fresh nonsense this season,” said Hanawalt.
