We are less than a month away from the release of Us, Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated follow-up to his Oscar-winning film Get Out. However, the promo is underway; the scares are still fresh, and a new international trailer that premiered online proves this.
Us follows The Wilsons, a Black family, as they embark on a beach getaway in Northern California during the summer. However, their weekend in bliss is soon turned upside down when they are confronted by “The Tethered,” a group of strangers who look exactly like them and are seemingly intent on killing them. Academy Award-winning actress Lupita N’yongo stars as Adelaide, a young woman troubled by past drama. The international trailer for Us seems to hint that Adelaide’s past is connected to the group of doppelgängers that haunt her family.
The 2 1/2-minute international trailer builds upon the suspense and sense of dread viewers were introduced to on Christmas Day when the teaser trailer for Us was released to huge fanfare. Us also stars Winston Duke, Anna Diop, Elisabeth Moss, Evan Alex, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and newly minted Candyman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Us arrives in theaters on March 19.
