Uzo Aduba is now in the producing game.

According to Deadline, Aduba and CBS Studios have agreed to a multi-year producing deal. One of the projects under the deal is Low Country, which Aduba will executive produce and star in.

Aduba will play Shirley Johnson, a deputy sheriff in a white South Carolina town who is marginalized by her peers for being Black and gay. Shirley’s skills are put to the test when she works on the case no one wants to take–bringing rich white crime family to justice.

As the outlet reports, the project is a drama from The Good Wife and Evil duo Robert and Michelle King, written by Evil and Your Honor writer Dewayne Jones, and will be shopped to premium cable and streaming networks soon. Also producing is King Sized Prods.’ Liz Glotzer.
