Hulu’s revival of Veronica Mars has added a pivotal cast member.
A Different World star Dawnn Lewis has been cast in a key recurring role as the new police chief, Marcia Langdon.
Lewis, most known for her roles on A Different World and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, has kept busy with recurring roles on many shows in recent years, including iZombie, The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Major Crimes.
Kristen Bell will return to lead the series, as well as Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, Ryan Hansenand and David Starzyk.
Production is underway in Los Angeles.
Series helmer Rob Thomas stated earlier that the revival would take the franchise back to its “hardcore So-Cal noir” with “one big case (with) eight episodes to tell the story.”
