Set to make its world premiere at theLos Angeles Film Festival in June is an ensemble drama feature titled “A Hundred Streets,” which stars Idris Elba (who is also a producer on the film).

Jim O’Hanlon directed the film from a script penned by Leon F. Butler.

Elba is joined by Gemma Arterton, Charlie Creed-Miles, Franz Drameh, Kierston Wareing, Tom Cullen and Ken Stott in the upcoming multi-stranded drama which tells 4 stories of a group of people who live within one square mile of each other in London.

The official synopsis reads: A layered and gripping drama, it takes a fresh look at the vibrant and compelling life of a group of individuals in contemporary London – destination capital of the world. A Hundred Streets intersect the film’s setting. Chelsea is just down the road from high-rise estates, riverside opulence contrasts with the day-to-day grind. It’s in these streets that the characters face defining moments, major choices and fundamental change in their separate lives, as they negotiate their paths through life, paths that often interweave through our hundred streets.

The filmmakers previously described the project as a gritty, contemporary and poignant multilayered drama, with the underlying message being one of hope, and that by working as a community, things can only get better.

“Crash” and “Amores Perros” are listed as inspirations for the film, which wa said to be based on real events.

The film is produced by Pippa Cross, Leon F Butler, Idris Elba and Ros Hubbard.

uMedia Entertainment is repping the film.

No trailer yet; but a first clip was released today, ahead of the film’s premiere at the LAFF tonight, Wednesday, June 8, at 7:30 pm, at ArcLight Culver City 2, screening in the festival’s Limelight section.
