For those unfamiliar, Smollett was charged with 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for filing a false police report in February when he alleged that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack during the early morning hours of January 29 in Chicago. Smollett claimed he was attacked by two masked men. Charges were eventually dropped against Smollett in March.
The preview for Law & Order: SVU’s upcoming episode presents a pop star named Mathis who is investigated by members of the Special Victims Unit after it appears that his details of an alleged assault don’t add up.
The episode airs October 10 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
