The first trailer for The Predator has premiered, and it wastes no time delving into the heart-stopping scares and death-defying stunts the franchise is known for.

The trailer opens with a short scene of kids in costumes gallivanting around a suburban neighborhood during Halloween before cutting to a scene of Jacob Tremblay opening a package which contains a mysterious object that incurs the arrival of the titular alien hunters. Only this time, however, the Predators are more lethal after genetically upgrading themselves with the DNA from other species.

The latest reincarnation of the sci-fi franchise is directed by Shane Black, who appeared in the original 1987 Predator film. The Predator stars Moonlight’s Trevante Rhodes, This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown, Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Alfie Allen, Jake Busey, Yvonne Strahovski and Keegan Michael Key in what is expected to be a dramatic turn for the comedian. The film arrives in theaters on September 24.
