Watch the trailer for 'Faith Under Fire' starring Toni Braxton as the real-life Georgia mother who disarmed school shooter

The trailer has been released for the upcoming Lifetime film starring Toni Braxton, called Faith Under Fire. It will air January 27 at 8 p.m.

It is based on the book, Prepared for a Purpose: An Inspiring True Story of Faith, Courage and Compassion in Crisis by Antoinette Tuff and Alex Tresniowski.

Braxton will be Antoinette Tuff, the Georgia mom from Georgia who “heroically averted a tragedy, saving hundreds of lives when she convinced a deranged gunman who stormed a Decatur, GA, elementary school in 2013 to surrender.”

Tuff, the school’s bookkeeper, was in the front office when the gunman, Michael Hill, who had a history of mental illness came in, armed with an AK-47, firing hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Antoinette using her own life struggles, was able to connect with Hill and convince him to surrender.

YaYa DaCosta will portray Kendra McCray, the 911 operator.

This is Braxton’s next project at Lifetime after her biopic, Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart, brought record ratings to the network.
