Jordan Peele finally uncovers his thesis for his latest horror instant-classic Us.
In one of the three clips from the film’s featurette “The Duality of Us,” Peele states how the film stems from the haves in society usually prospering by suppressing the have nots. In his own words, “For us to have our privilege, someone suffers.”
“Those who suffer and those who prosper are two sides of the same coin,” he said. “We can never forget that. We have to fight for the less fortunate.”
“The Duality of Us,” is one of several featurettes that will be a part of the film’s home release. Other featurettes include “The Monsters Within Us,” “Tethered Together: Making Us Twice,” “Redefining a Genre: Jordan Peele’s Brand of Horror” and “Becoming Red.” Deleted scenes, bloopers from Winston Duke and Tim Heidecker’s beach conversation scene and an extended version of the “Grand Pas de Deux” scene are also included.
Us will make its way to 4K, Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD June 18. The film is currently available on Digital.
