A round of feature film casting announcements you should be aware of…

— Lyndie Greenwood of “Sleepy Hollow” has been cast opposite Queen Latifah in Lifetime’s original movie “Flint,” about the water-contamination crisis in Flint, MI. Greenwood will play the daughter of Latifah’s character who works as a medical assistant and is uniquely positioned to view firsthand the effects of the Flint water crisis. She and her mother bond closely as they battle to bring the truth to light and to prevent further tragedies.

— Erica Ash (“Survivor’s Remorse”) is attached to star in an indie holiday movie titled “Miss Me This Christmas” from director Kenny Young and written by Yvette Foy and Marni Martin. The film centers on Regina (Ash) and her estranged husband Franklin, music industry heavyweights who were married on Christmas Day and are facing a divorce on their anniversary unless they can be honest with each other and themselves. Redaric Willias, Eva Marcille, Allen Maldonado, Brely Evans and Richard Gant round out the cast.

— Hannah John-Kamen (“Killjoys”) has joined the cast of MGM and Warner Bros’ “Tomb Raider” to play lead Alicia Vikander’s best friend, and the film’s 6th lead. Dominic West, Daniel Wu and Walt Goggins are also attached to star. The film is currently in production in South Africa and will be released March 16, 2018.

— LisaGay Hamilton and Andre Royo have been cast in the Amazon Studios film “Beautiful Boy,” which is based on the memoir by David Sheff, and tells a true story of a father dealing with his son’s addiction to methamphetamines. Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment is producing. Felix Van Groeningen co-wrote the script with Luke Davies, and will also direct the film. Steve Carell and Timothee Chalamet play father and son. Royo plays the role of Spencer, who is the son’s sponsor. No word on what role Hamilton has signed up to play.

— LisaGay Hamilton has also been cast in Todd Robinson’s upcoming political drama “The Last Full Measure,” which centers on a Pentagon investigator who reluctantly teams with veterans of Operation Abilene to convince Congress to award the Medal of Honor to a courageous Air Force medic.

— Cory Hardrict has joined Nicolas Cage in the bank heist drama “#211,” from Millennium/Nu Image, which York Alec Shackleton is attached to direct from his own script. The story follows a bank robbery that good cop (Cage) is trying to thwart. Hardrict will play Officer Hanson, his tough-as-nails partner.

— Alexandra Shipp has booked a co-starring role in the upcoming psychological thriller “Spinning Man,” from director Simon Kaijser and writer Matthew Aldrich, joining Pierce Brosnan, Guy Pearce and Minnie Drive in the film which is based on George Harrar’s novel, and follows a professor and family man, whose past reveals a number of illicit relations with his students. When a young woman is found murdered, he becomes the prime suspect. Shipp will play Anna, a college student conflicted by an affair she had with her professor.

— And finally, Ashleigh Murray has joined Jessica Rothe and Josh Whitehouse in MGM’s musical remake “Valley Girl,” which Rachel Lee Goldenberg is directing from a script by Amy Talkington, with revisions by Marti Noxon. The adaptation to the 1983 original follows Julie (Rothe), a sweet-natured San Fernando Valley girl whose world and values are rocked when she falls hard for Randy (Whitehouse), a punk rocker from Hollywood. Murray, currently co-starring in CW’s “Riverdale,” will play Loryn, described as a high-energy, spacey and boy-crazy popular girl.
