If you’ve been looking at the promotional images for The Lion King, you’ve probably been asking yourself, “Where is James Earl Jones? Is he all right?” Well, director Jon Favreau has the good news that Jones, who voices Mufasa, is doing fine.

Favreau and members of The Lion King cast spoke with Al Roker on NBC’s Today in an interview that aired July 12, and Favreau gave the update on Jones.

“My understanding is that he’s doing well. This takes a lot of energy to do, and just his involvement at all is something I’m very grateful for,” he said.

To break the seriousness, Billy Eichner, who voices Timon in the film, joked, “James and I are feuding.”
