How many folks out there are White Chicks fans? If you love the 2004 Marlon and Shawn Wayans comedy and are still hoping for a sequel, Terry Crews is in your corner.
Crews, who played Latrell Spencer, a man who liked Marlon’s character Tiffany, talked about his hopes for a White Chicks sequel to Us Weekly.
“I would love one!” he said. “I’m staying in shape for White Chicks 2! I will never get out of shape–you know that right? I will be 75 and say, ‘Here we go, I’m ready to go!’ I will never, ever get out of shape because that movie’s going to happen one day.”
Marlon himself has talked about making a White Chicks sequel, telling Total Request Live that he’s been talking to his brothers about the possibility. “I don’t know, but there’s been some rumblings happening, a lot of people want us to it, so me and my brothers have been talking about,” he said. “So if things go right, we hope to do a White Chicks 2.”
Currently, there are no plans for a sequel, but, if Marlon is right that there are “a lot” of people who want him to make a sequel, then you never know–we could see another White Chicks on the horizon. What will be especially interesting is how the film will play in this new Hollywood landscape. What was funny in 2004 won’t necessarily be funny today.
The film was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and written by all three Wayans brothers as well as Andrew McElfresh, Michael Anthony Snowden and Xavier Cook. The film also starred Jaime King, Frankie Faison, Lochlyn Munro, John Heard, Busy Philipps, Rochelle Aytes, Faune Chambers Watkins, Brittany Daniel and Eddie Velez. The story involves two FBI agents (Marlon and Shawn) who go undercover to keep two hotel heiress sisters safe.
