While promoting his new film, Bad Boys for Life on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith told the audience that he didn’t like his work on one of the Men in Black sequels.
“I had fumbled a couple of my last sequels,” he said, Entertainment Weekly reported. “You know, I wasn’t happy with the Men in Black sequel.”
As to which sequel he is referring to, we don’t know, as he didn’t clarify which of the two Men in Black sequels he wasn’t happy with. However, either one could have propelled Smith to think longer on creating Bad Boys for Life, since he told Fallon that one of the reasons the film took so long to make was getting the story right.
“The reason it took so long is because I didn’t want to make it just…as a cashgrab,” he said. “…I just really wanted to make sure this was a standalone film that people would have a real, brand new experience in.”
