Willow Smith, who goes by the stage name WILLOW, electrified the stage as she performed her solo set at Coachella under the Mojave tent on Sunday night.

Smith treated fans to a powerful show, telling fans, “I know we’ve already been emo for a long time, but we are going to get more emo right now,” as she introduced her anthem “Ur a Stranger.” The musical artist and actress went on to perform a slew of hits, from “t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l” and “Falling Endlessly” to “WHY?” and “Split.”

The Whip My Hair hitmaker was joined by her 24-year-old brother Jaden Smith, who donned a “Willow’s brother” shirt under his leather jacket during a rendition of their “Summertime in Paris” collab.

While some may have been disappointed that Smith was not joined by her collaborator, Tyler Cole, she did their song justice all on her own. Released as part of The Anxiety with Tyler Cole in November 2021, “Meet Me at Our Spot” peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her most successful song since “Whip My Hair.”

Disgraced 54-year-old father Will Smith cheered on the energetic Smith duo from the thick of the crowd, showing his children off for his Instagram in a video filmed during the set.

The 22-year-old emerged on the music scene with the 2010 pop hit “Whip My Hair,” which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since 2021, however, she has headed a pop-punk band with drummer Aaron Haggerty, guitarist Liso Lee and engineer Zach Brown. Smith released her fourth album, titled Lately I Feel Everything, featuring the single “t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l” in November 2021. It was certified gold in the U.S.

Smith brought her show to an end with “Wait a Minute!” One thing’s for sure, Smith’s big Coachella moment is proof that the budding star’s musical stardom is on the rise.
