In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Paramount Pictures has decided to shift the release date for Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming film, Without Remorse. Aside from Jordan, Jodie Turner-Smith of Queen & Slim also stars, as well as Jamie Bell, Luke Mitchell, Jacob Scipio, Cam Gigandet and Brett Gelman.

The spy thriller, directed by Stefano Sollima, will now be released on Oct. 2, 2020. The film’s original release date was set two weeks earlier on Sept. 18.

Based on the book of the same name by Tom Clancy, Without Remorse chronicles John Clark, a U.S. Navy Seal who embarks on a quest for vengeance to solve his wife’s murder. However, Clark unravels a larger conspiracy during his journey. Jordan is attached to star as John Clark in a film series at Paramount, where at least two films had been planned based on the books Rainbow Six and Without Remorse. Paramount had reportedly been trying to do a John Clark film for a while, with Christopher McQuarrie and Ryan Reynolds previously attached. The character has been previously portrayed on the big screen by the likes of Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber. Stefano Sollima is the director and Taylor Sheridan is the writer of the film.

The film is just the latest of many films to see its release date pushed back in the wake of the coronavirus.
