The latest season of Food Network’s Worst Cooks In America has been pulled from the air after its champion has been arrested in connection to a child homicide.
Ariel Robinson, age 29, was charged Tuesday along with her husband, Jerry Robinson, in the death of Victoria Smith, their 3-year-old girl adopted daughter in South Carolina. Robinson faces counts of homicide by child abuse.
Robinson won $25,000 in the latest edition of Worst Cooks in America, a show in which people with admittedly poor cooking skills compete for money. The season was filmed in February and aired last year. All content on Food Network’s website and digital channels related to the season has also been scrubbed. Robinson was also a ELA teacher at Sanders Middle School but left the district after the 2018-19 school year.
Television station WHNS reported that a medical examination determined that Smith died as a result of several blunt force injuries.
The death remains under investigation by multiple entities.
