American Auto and The Blackening star X Mayo is among the top three stars in the running to headline the reboot of @midnight, which will take over the slot of James Corden’s CBS late-night show after his departure.

@midnight previously aired on Comedy Central from 2013- 2017 and was hosted by Chris Hardwick. Via Puck News, TVLine reported that X Mayo, comedian Ricky Velez and comedian/writer Taylor Tomlinson are being considered by CBS Chief George Cheeks. It is unclear how the reboot of the game show may be different from its original iteration.

X Mayo would be a great host for the series due to her own comic writing and on-camera experience for The Daily Show as well as her own comedic and dramatic experience. Of course, she has starred in NBC’s American Auto, but she also lent her voice to Strange Planet and appeared in Donald Glover’s latest series, Swarm. She has also appeared in The Good Doctor and Lulu Wang’s The Farewell.

In Mayo’s latest film, The Blackening, she plays Shanika, one out of a group of friends who were hoping to have a reunion getaway, but the weekend becomes a terror that the group must survive. The film also starred Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, Dewayne Perkins, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls, Jay Pharoah and Yvonne Orji.
