Yara Shahidi has been named Dior's Global Brand Ambassador and is now part of the "Dior Forever" sisterhood beauty movement. The 21-year-old actor and activist will now be the face of Dior's women's fashion and cosmetics, representing the designs made by Dior's creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, and Dior image director of makeup, Peter Philips.
Dior Beauty announced the Grown-ish star is the latest ambassador for the brand on its Instagram account.
"A NEW GENERATION FOREVER IS COMING… Dior Global Brand Ambassador Yara Shahidi, award-winning actress, producer, and inspiring change agent is now part of the Forever sisterhood movement as the new face alongside Natalie Portman," Dior said.
Shahidi revealed the news to her 6 million followers on Instagram to celebrate the partnership. One post includes a short clip of herself celebrating with her "incredible Dream Team."
The Harvard University student followed up with a third post revealing the #DiorForever billboard in Paris, France, taking in the moment.
"Moments like this are beyond pure imagination!" she wrote. "Currently sitting in awe and gratitude to be surrounded by people that believe in me, pour so much into me, and made THIS happen."
Other stars in the Sisterhood campaign include Natalie Portman, Cara Delevingne, and more.
This new partnership is not the first time the 21-year-old activist has worked with a prestigious design house. Shahidi joined Dior for the 2021 "Dior Stands with Women" campaign series, created by actress Charlize Theron in honor of International Women's Day. Shahidi spoke candidly about finding her voice as a young woman, gaining the confidence to speak up in different situations, and speaking up for herself.
"What we know to be true is that so many young women aren't given the space to be heard consistently, to feel as though people are genuinely taking the time to understand what they're saying," Yara said in her video. "And so when I go in to fight for what I believe is right, or what I believe is crucial to a certain project, I think there are many times that women and it's only exacerbated if you're a woman of color."
