More of Kenya Barris‘ upcoming Netflix film, You People, has been revealed in the official trailer for the film.
Released Thursday, the full trailer gives more context for the relationship between Jonah Hill’s character Ezra and Lauren London’s character Amira. It also gives fans more of a view of Eddie Murphy and Nia Long’s characters’ relationship as Amira’s parents. This time, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny are also given the spotlight as Ezra’s parents.
You People is directed by Barris and written by Barris and Hill. The film is produced by Barris, Hill and Kevin Misher and executive produced by David Hyman, Matt Dines, Hale Rothstein, Alison Goodwin, Mychelle Deschamps, Andy Berman and Charisse Hewitt-Webster.
Along with the main cast, the film also stars Sam Jay, Elliot Gould, Travis Bennett, Molly Gordon, Rhea Perlman, Deon Cole, Andrea Savage, Mike Epps, Emily Arlook and Alani La La Anthony, Bryan Greenberg. The film also serves as Barris’ directorial debut and is described as “a modern love story set amidst clashing cultures and interfaith relationships.”

When a rideshare mix-up in LA brings Ezra Cohen (Jonah Hill) and Amira Mohammed (Lauren London) together, the two find themselves connecting over a shared love of streetwear and music.
