Eriq La Salle, whom we last told you will star in the CBS series – a drama pilot called Widow Detective, is set to direct the TV Hallmark original film The Playing Father.
Penned by Grace Under Fire's Wayne Lemon, Playing centers on an ex-musician (Eddie Cibrian), who turns his back on fans and fame to come back home to teach music to disenfranchised children, thus repairing his relationship with his own family.
Michael Beach is slated to star as the custodian in the school where Cibrian's character works.
The Playing Father will be produced by Lincoln Lageson and executive produced by Larry Levinson and Randy Pope.
