Erykah Badu is apologizing after her Instagram Stories went on and on with footage of Barack Obama’s 60th birthday bash last week.

Last Saturday, Badu posted videos and photos of the exclusive soiree at Martha's Vineyard to her Instagram.

The footage features Obama, who turned 60 years old on Aug. 4, on the dance floor at the Hawaiian luau-themed extravaganza with fellow R&B singer H.E.R. Eventually, Badu deleted the clip but not before it was reposted across social media. Taking to Twitter, Badu offered an apology to the Obama’s for breaking the cardinal rule.

“Mr. And Mrs. Obama,” she penned in a tweet. “Please forgive me 4 being the ‘terrible guest’ at such a sacred event for your family.”

“I was so inconsiderate,” she continued. “Thank you for all your love. What an example of ‘how NOT ‘ to be ……  erica.”

Originally, the gala event was set to welcome 500 guests to the Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard estate but as the COVID-19 Delta variant began to spread rapidly throughout the country, the attendee list was reduced to 200 people.

“Due to the new spread of the delta variant over the past week, the president and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends,” Hannah Hankins, a spokeswoman for the former president, said in a statement. “President Obama is appreciative of others sending their birthday wishes from afar and looks forward to seeing people soon.”

Although the number of attendees was cut in half, Don Cheadle, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union,
Jay-Z and Beyoncé were all in attendance.
