Few things are as sacred as a game of spades, and NBA star John Wall reinforced this fact during a hilarious interview on ESPN on Monday.
Wall was being interviewed by hosts of Monday Tailgate Field Yates and Jason Fitz about his love of football and the Dallas Cowboys.
But almost immediately the hosts, and viewers, realized Wall was a bit preoccupied with something much more important—playing spades.
Amazingly, Wall was able to answer most of the host's questions without missing a beat.
Over the past 48 hours, there has been a lot of talk about things people should and should not do during Zoom calls or interviews. But the 30-year-old proved that he is a hall-of-fame multitasker, balancing a discussion about his Dallas Cowboys fandom with his need to help his partner win a hand of spades.
According to Turner Sports reporter Taylor Rooks, Wall actually won the game of spades, too.
Important: I just spoke to John Wall
He tells me ended up winning that game of spades. ????

"I just spoke to John Wall. He tells me ended up winning that game of spades," Rooks wrote on Twitter.
The athlete did not play in the last NBA season because he's still recovering from a torn achilles, according to Sports Illustrated. He also didn't join his Washington Wizards teammates in the Orlando bubble for the playoffs that finished earlier this month.
He is slated to play in the 2020-2021 season once the NBA resumes its activities.
