Outside of connecting people across the world through a screen, social media has done an incredible job of launching the careers of models, singers and actors. If you spend enough time on Instagram, the name B. Simone probably sounds familiar. Short for Braelyn, Simone catapulted to mainstream success after joining Wild 'N Out as a recurring cast member for season nine. Her stint on the sketch comedy show lasted five seasons and since then, the Atlanta resident has solidified herself as one of the funniest women on the internet.

Simone has greater aspirations than being a comedian. Since making her mark, she's inked deals in the beauty industry and as of late, has embarked on a fitness journey. There's a lot more to her than a few laughs here and there; scroll on to learn more about B. Simone on both a professional and personal level.

1. She released her first EP in 2014.

When she's not making audiences laugh on stage, B. Simone is hard in the studio making music. In 2014, she released her first EP, Los Soul. Since then, the Dallas native has dropped countless other singles including the popular "Raw Sh*t Freestyle."

2. B. Simone once had a reality show on Zeus.

Openly vocal about her love life, B. Simone was once the lead in a reality show about her quest to find a partner. "You're My Boooyfriend" premiered in 2019 on Zeus network and each episode involved men embarking on various challenges to prove their love for her.

Darian Barnes, known as "Invisalign" on the show, was the eventual winner, but in 2019, the couple went their separate ways so Simone could focus on work.

3. She previously dated NFL star Chris Smith.

At the start of 2021, Simone and current Baltimore Ravens defensive end Chris Smith were spotted together in public, and a video of them working out together quickly went viral.

The relationship seemingly ended in summer 2021 after Simone posted a video selfie to her nearly 6 million followers on Instagram and captioned it "Single." Soon after, Smith fired off his own post with a caption about success, which fans likened to his famous ex.

4. In 2016, Simone explained the rare mark on her eyebrow.

Cosmetic enhancements are growing in popularity year after year, but Simone's natural, unique look has others rushing to resemble the businesswoman.

In 2016, Simone revealed the mystery behind the scar on her brow, telling DJ Smallz that it's a permanent mark that occurred when she was a teenager. While she doesn't "like to talk about" how she got the scar, Simone did say it's inspired several of her "supporters" to rock a similar look.

5. Simone is not without her share of criticism.

Between accusations of plagiarism to receiving backlash for her comments on women seeking companionship, Simone seems to be more in the news for controversial actions than business endeavors. Most recently, the comedian came under fire for charging fans $10 to be added to her close friends while on vacation in Mexico. As Blavity reported in October 2021, many likened this decision to "scamming," saying a week's worth of content was not worth the same price as an Apple Music subscription.

Simone appeared to have the last laugh, though. Underneath the comments of The Neighborhood Talk's post, she claimed 3,000 people had already signed up to join the inner circle. Multiply 3,000 by 10 and, well, let's say that's not a bad business decision.

With a healthy following of fans both online and in real life, B. Simone is proving you can achieve success by making your own rules and being yourself.
