DMX, also known as Earl Simmons, is a hip-hop legend who has topped the charts and also reached unbelievable lows in his career. Among many accolades, he's the only rapper in history to have his first three albums reach No. 1. He has also battled long-standing drug addiction.
During all of this, he still had time to welcome 15 children into the world. Not much is known about all of them, but this is what we do know.
Shawn Simmons
There’s not much information on Shawn Simmons other than that he exists. He isn’t shouted out or tagged in any family profiles. It’s possible that he doesn’t have social media. However, it appears that he made a cameo in a family photo.
Praise Mary Ella Simmons
Praise certainly has a beautiful and unique name. The 14-year-old maintains a private profile, but she has popped up on her mother’s social media from time to time. In one such instance, she can be seen accompanying her mother on an “impromptu road trip.”
Tacoma Simmons
Tacoma seems to keep a low profile, but that doesn’t stop his proud mom from shouting him out. Tacoma became a Poet (the mascot) at Whittier College in 2019. His mother shared a touching post.
“After 20 years of hurricanes, sunshine and transformation. You have bloomed into a force I could only dream for,” his mother said.
Xavier Simmons
Xavier Simmons is the first child from the marriage between Tashera Simmons and DMX. Tashera met the “Get At Me Dog” artist when she was just 11 years old. Tashera eventually filed for divorce after finding out that DMX fathered four children outside of their marriage, according to Perez Hilton. Xavier is a musician and actor. He has appeared in many films his father has starred in, like the cult classic Belly, and he frequently shares his acoustic guitar playing on his social media. Xavier appeared on Iyanla: Fix My Life to confront his father about his addiction and behavior.
DMX’s successes and setbacks have been well documented. His children remain a mystery, and a growing number, but he always seems exceptionally proud of them.
