Donald Glover has transcended the pigeonholes of musical genres to become one of this generation’s most diverse stars.

Under his rap moniker Childish Gambino, the “Redbone” artist has been nominated for 12 Grammys and has won five. In fact, his infectious “This Is America” track was the first rap song ever to win Record of the Year, as Blavity previously reported. Oh, and Glover is also an Emmy winner for his show Atlanta which he created, stars in and sometimes directs.

Though Glover and his many projects are never too far away from the spotlight, his dating history is notoriously private. He shares two children with his longtime partner Michelle White, but not much is known about her.

1. The two may or may not be married.

In a 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Glover didn’t mince words on his views that marriage was not useful to him. "It doesn't serve the purpose that I would want it to serve," he said.

But during the 2019 press tour for The Lion King in which Glover voiced the iconic character Simba, he used language that suggested his feelings may have changed when he referred to White as his wife. Glover made the admission while remembering how confused his son, Legend, was hearing his father’s voice from a lion while seeing his father beside him.

"He kept looking and my wife was like, 'Oh, he's getting it. He's getting it,'" reported ET

So, are the two married? The verdict here is inconclusive.

2. Glover has shown love to White quite often and publicly.

"I want to thank Michelle, my partner. You love me even with how crazy I get," Glover said on stage during his Emmy acceptance speech according to Cheatsheet. "I want to thank my baby, my son, for just being the joy in my life. I want to thank my unborn son, we're listening to Stevie tonight."

Earlier in the year. Glover sang her praises at the Golden Globes too, saying, “I really want to say thank you to my son and the mother of my son for making me believe in people again and things being possible, so thank you."

3. White does all “the hard stuff.”

White and Glover share two children together, but details on either son are scarce. In June of 2017, while performing at The Governor’s Ball, Glover revealed the name of his young son to a shocked crowd.

"This song is dedicated to everybody in this crowd and my young son, Legend," Glover said according to Billboard

In 2018, after the arrival of his second son, whose name hasn’t been released, Glover told People his partner was doing all the "hard stuff."

“I think my partner, she does all the hard stuff, to be honest,” Glover said. “She’s just very supportive. I haven’t really had to change anything. But it’s given me definitely another perception on what life is. It gives me a lot of context.”

As this couple remains notoriously private, that's all we've got for you folks.
