Angela Bassett will serve as honorary host to introduce Ava DuVernay's Middle of Nowhere at this year's Los Angeles Film Festival. Nowhere will have its red-carpet gala premiere at the fest on June 20.
The star-studded event will the first time for the film to screen publicly after its premiere at Sundance this past January, in which Nowhere garnered the U.S. Directing Award. If you haven't yet, read Tambay's Sundance review of the film HERE.
Middle of Nowhere's filmmakers and cast will be in attendance. Among the other guests confirmed are: Regina King, Dennis Haysbert, Nate Parker, Julie Dash, Charles Burnett, Mara Brock Akil, Courtney B. Vance, Goapele, Traci Thoms, Lauren London, Wendy Raquel Robinson, CCH Pounder, Jenifer Lewis, Harry Lennix, Bokeem Woodbine, Gina Rodriguez, Erica Hubbard, Naturi Naughton and Salli Richardson-Whitfield.
