I had the pleasure to interview actor Isaiah Washington yesterday, an interview which I will post later this week, and he provided some details on a project he and The Wire star Michael Kenneth Williams are both set to produce and star in.

The Suspect, beginning production next month, will be directed by Life Garland from a script by Stuart Connelly. Connelly is a National Education Press Award winner and author of several novels, primarily thrillers. He co-wrote Behind the Dream: The Making of the Speech that Tranformed a Nation, a thrilling behind-the-scenes chronicle of events leading up to the “I Have A Dream” speech, as told by Clarence Jones, MLK‘s close confidant and co-writer of the speech.

In an email from Connelly this morning, he provided the following synopsis for The Suspect:

Two African American social scientists pose as bank robbers in an effort to understand the racial dynamics of small-town law enforcement. However, their experiment takes an unplanned, deadly turn.
