To be presented as 1 of only 4 gala screening events at the Los Angeles Film Festival this year (headed by Stephanie Allain), Ava DuVernay's lauded sophomore feature film effort, Middle Of Nowhere, will screen tomorrow night at LA Live's Regal Cinemas 800seat auditorium!

As already reported, the evening's honorary host will be Oscar nominee Angela Bassett, with the film's cast and the following notables confirmed to be present for the event: filmmakers John Singleton, F. Gary Gray, Charles Burnett, Gina and Reggie Bythewood, Mara and Salim Akil, plus actors Regina King, Kimberly Elise, Dennis Haysbert, CCH Pounder, Louis Gossett, Jr., Harry Lennix, Lynn Whitfield, Jenifer Lewis, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Garcelle Beauvais, Nate Parker, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Bokeem Woodbine, Naturi Naughton, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Goapele, Kenny Lattimore, Tessa Thompson, Lauren London, Erica Hubbard, Tony Rock and Rainn Wilson.

I should also note that AFFRM will screen Middle Of Nowhere for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) this Saturday, June 23, at their annual convention in New Orleans, the film's first non-festival screening.

Ava DuVernay will be present for a Q&A afterward.

"Screening for black press is really important to me. I worked as a publicist for years and know that very often, African-American press aren't given priority by studios and larger corporations. For AFFRM, minority press is a huge focus and priority. So I wanted to go there and personally present my film to these journalists of color myself," the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Best Director award winner said; and it's at Sundance where I saw Middle Of Nowhere and loved it!

The drama, which stars Emayatzy CorinealdiDavid OyelowoOmari Hardwick, Lorraine Touissaint, and Edwina Findley (shot by award-winning DP Bradford Young), was acquired jointly by Participant Media and AFFRM, to be released on October 12.

While we await that first full trailer, here's a look at the film's official release poster:
