Family Searching For Answers After Body Of Tampa Woman Found

Police found Griffith’s body on March 24 in Pasco County, Florida, ABC Action News reports. According to WFLA, her family confirmed her passing to 8 On Your Side. Rena Walters, one of Griffith’s sisters, also confirmed Griffith’s passing on Facebook.

“We’d like to thank the people of Tampa: The neighbors, the strangers, business owners and workers who have come forth to help in any way they could,” she wrote on Facebook. “We’d like to also thank the news media who have been respectful and helpful to our family, trying only to get the news out there and bring Teneisha home.”

She continued, saying, “Sadly, It is with a heavy and broken heart that we say Teneisha is no longer with us. Our family is irreparably broken. We will never be the same. We lost a young charismatic, funny, and truly one of a kind individual way too soon. To those wishing us well, and sending prayers, please continue to do so. We need them.”

Walters, with Griffith’s other sister Ashley Darling, were tirelessly looking for the 27-year-old. They informed the Tampa Bay Times that Griffith came home from her job at Amazon on March 18. She texted her father that night, but relatives and friends have not heard from her, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Darling and Walters became concerned when they heard from Griffith’s friends that she did not show up to a gathering on March 19.

Walters and Darling also told the newspaper that their sister hadn’t called her 12-year-old daughter in several days.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Griffith had also failed to show up to work on March 22.

Griffith’s family had been looking for the 27-year-old. They went to businesses around the mother’s home to hand out flyers and look for potential leads.

“We’ve been out looking for her, but we’ve had absolutely no leads, no tips — nothing,” Walters told the Tampa Bay Times at the time of their search.

“It just kind of feels like a nightmare that I just can’t wake up from,” Darling said, according to the Times.
