In conjunction with the Cherry Hill, NJ premiere of the new feature film, THINGS NEVER SAID, Reelblack, Philly’s #1 promoter of African-American Film will host a special filmmaker’s workshop with the film’s writer/producer/director CHARLES MURRAY. 

The event will take place at Art Sanctuary, 16^th & Bainbridge Streets in South Philadelphia from 11am-2pm.  The discussion will be moderated by Reelblack’s Mike D. and The Dysfunctional Screenwriting Society’s Keith Chamberlain.  Tickets for this event are $10.  Bring your own lunch and get tips from a Hollywood screenwriting veteran.

Charles Murray has spent the last 10 plus years as a television writer and has worked with TV heavyweights like David Milch (Deadwood, NYPD Blue), Steven Bochco (Hill Street Blues) and Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds, Third Watch).  His recent foray into features is a natural extension of his ability to tell and share the best stories he can, on platforms his audience habitually and consistently consumes. 

Working on shows like Sons of Anarchy (where he is currently Co-Executive Producer), Castle, Criminal Minds and V, he’s cultivated a rich, methodical storytelling sensibility as well as the relationships one would imagine you need to feed the all-encompassing TV pipeline.  He’s also written features for 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate and Screen Gems.  Things Never Said is his first feature film.  It opens Friday October 18 at the AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 for a limited run.

 

Reelblack has previously hosted workshops with filmmakers Ava DuVernay, Bradford Young, Neil Drumming and Alrick Brown.  The mission is to provide insight into the craft and business of filmmaking to people interested in film, regardless of experience.
