As already reported, shooting is underway for the sci-fi/adventure project 1000 A.E., starring father/son pairing Will Smith and Jaden Smith, directed by M. Night Shyamalan. 

The cast and crew are in Costa Rica currently, and have been sharing photos from the set over the last week. I've ignored all of them thus far, because they really didn't reveal much of anything… but this one was compelling enough to post. It actually shows the young Jaden, sporting a new haircut (not all that new), in costume.

A brief recap… the post-apocalyptic flick centers on a father and son who crashland on an earth that has become uninhabitable, and the son, considered a failure as a warrior, is put in a position in which he has to save his father, who has already proven his worth as a hero.

Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo co-star star as sister/daughter and mother/wife respectively.

Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) was recently brought on to polish up Shaymalan's script (a very good idea IMHO), and Colombia Pictures is said to be planning a June 2013 release.
