If you plan on attending the 7-day 2011 EAA AirVenture festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin later this month (and I’m sure you all are :)), you’ll likely be the first group of folks to see any footage from the George Lucas-produced Tuskegee Airmen actioner, Red Tails.

According to the aviation event’s website, Lucas and Harrison Ford are headlining a list of presenters scheduled to appear at EAA’s Fly-In Theater, which is located at Wittman Regional Airport; and on July 29 (the event runs from July 25-31), the duo will introduce a preview of the upcoming, somewhat secretive Red Tails, which, as far as I know, nobody has seen any footage or even stills from in the 2 or so years since it started production.

No word on exactly how long the preview will be; I’m guessing it’ll be the first official trailer, which means it’ll likely turn up online soon thereafter, if not before, so I’ll certainly be looking out for it (whatever it ends up being) from hereon.

If you’re in the area, you can purchase tickets for the even on the festival’s website; cost? $37 per day.

As already reported a few weeks ago, jazz-man, and Spike Lee’s favorite composer, Terence Blanchard, is scoring the film, and director Anthony Hemingway revealed, via Twitter, that Red Tails will be in theaters in January 2012

The film’s cast includes: Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Lee Tergesen, Ne-Yo, Elijah Kelley, Andre Royo and Jesse Williams.

Stay tuned…
